Rafael Nadal set to join Real Madrid board of directors

Legendary tennis player Rafael Nadal is reportedly expected to join the Real Madrid board of directors. According to media reports, Los Blancos will present his candidacy to their members at the general assembly on November 21.
If it is accepted, as is generally anticipated, Nadal will be appointed to the board. The 40-year-old has been a long-time Madrid fan and has also been spotted at many club matches. Now, he is set to become part of the club’s management.

To confirm the appointment, Madrid will convene an extraordinary general meeting. The information was revealed by Spanish publication Marca and confirmed by an official statement from Los Blancos.
“A proposal from the board of directors to be approved by the extraordinary general assembly, appointing Mr Rafael Nadal Parera a member of the board of directors of Real Madrid, in accordance with Article 46 of the statutes.”
“In this regard, the board unanimously agreed to submit the following proposal to the extraordinary general assembly for approval: the ratification of the appointment of Mr Rafael Nadal Parera as a member of the board of directors of Madrid, in accordance with Article 46 of the statutes.”
On the 21st of this month, Real Madrid will hold their regular general assembly. The first call will take place at 9:00 am, and the second call will take place at 10:00 am, if necessary.
The agenda includes the president’s statement, the annual report, the balance sheet, the club’s earnings and losses account, the consolidated accounts with subsidiaries for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, and the examination and approval, if required, of the budget settlement.
The proposed membership prices for the 2027–2028 season, the consolidated budget of income and expenditure, the activity plan for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, and a final round of questions and comments will all be discussed by members.
Nadal already took to social media to thank the club and confirmed that he will accept the offer.
“I would like to thank president Florentino Perez and the board of directors for proposing my joining Real Madrid’s board of directors,” he said. “I have accepted this proposal with great enthusiasm, and I am eager to learn and to contribute as much as possible.”
