All you need to know about the RF Development League 2022
The top two teams from the competition will travel to the UK.
The inaugural edition of the Reliance Foundation (RF) Development League will take place in Goa from April 15 to May 12. The league will be the first of a kind initiative in India that will provide a unique opportunity for emerging players to compete against the best talent in their age group from across the country.
A total of eight teams, including seven from the Indian Super League, are participating in the first edition of the Reliance Foundation Development League.
Matches in the league will be played in a round-robin format with teams facing each other once each. All eight teams involved must arrive in the Goa by April 12 with the tournament set to commence two days later.

Prize
The top two teams at the end of the league will travel to the United Kingdom to participate in the Next Gen Cup tournament, hosted by the Premier League. The two teams from the RF Development League will clash against select PL youth clubs.
Venues
The matches will take place at the Nagoa Football Ground and the Benaulim Football Ground, which are in South Goa. Teams are also provided with three additional training grounds for their sessions.
Teams
Seven teams from the Indian Super League, namely - Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, FC Goa, Jamshedpur FC, Kerala Blasters FC, Mumbai City FC and Hyderabad FC will be participating in the competition. Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) are the other side in the league.

Eligibility Criteria
Only players born on or after January 1, 20221 are eligible to participate in the RF Development League. However, each team have been allowed to include up to five players born on or after January 1, 1999, in their respective squads. Only three such players are permissible in the playing XI at any given time. The maximum squad strength is 24 players. Teams are also not allowed to name any foreign nationals in their squads.
League Format
Matches will be played in a round-robin format, which allows each team to play at least seven games in the competition. Teams will face each other once each with the top two teams at the end of the league stage rewarded with the trip to the UK to play in the Next Gen Cup.
