Nico Williams Spain v Saudi Arabia: Group H - FIFA World Cup 2026

Spain will face France in the semifinal on July 14.

Spain defeated Belgium 2-1 to secure a berth in the semifinals of the FIFA World Cup 2026. La Roja will face Didier Deschamps’s France in the 1/4 finals, who secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Morocco in their quarterfinal last week.

Both sides have been seen as the top favourites since the start of the summer competition in North America. And it’s finally the time when they clash against each other on the biggest stage of global football. La Roja have conceded only one goal in the tournament so far, which was scored by Belgium’s frontman Charles De Ketelaere in the quarterfinal.

Meanwhile, France has scored 16 goals in the tournament, and their attack is arguably the scariest frontline in the whole tournament. France captain Kylian Mbappe has scored the right goals, while Ousmane Dembele has bagged five. Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue have also added a total of three goals.

Both sides are set to clash on Tuesday, July 14, in an action-packed game at the Dallas Stadium in Arlington, Texas. While France also have a few injury woes ahead of the crucial clash against Spain, let’s take a look at the injury update from La Roja’s side ahead of their semi-final clash.

Victor Munoz: Liverpool’s latest signing, Victor Munoz, suffered a left-leg calf injury before the 2026 FIFA World Cup. And when he was expected to return to La Roja, he suffered a significant muscle setback that has kept him from playing for the 2010 champions at the summer competition. However, he can make his potential World Cup debut against Les Blues.

Nico Williams: Atletico Bilbao attacker Nico Williams’ fitness has been a topic of discussion among the Spanish fans throughout the FIFA World Cup. He entered the tournament with an injury. However, after completing his recovery, he played against Uruguay on matchday 3, during which he sustained a groin injury after a challenge from Nicolas de la Cruz. He got minutes against Belgium and is expected to play against France.

Yeremy Pino: He suffered a collarbone injury during La Roja’s last FIFA World Cup group stage clash against Uruguay. Since then, he has been out of action for the 2010 champions. It was later confirmed that he suffered an acromioclavicular sprain, and his return date remains uncertain.
