Spain will face Argentina in the final on July 19.

Spain’s performance in the ongoing FIFA World Cup has been top-notch. La Roja defeated France 2-0 in the semi-final earlier this season to secure a berth in the FIFA World Cup 2026 summit clash, where they will be up against Argentina, who scored twice in eight minutes to win 2-1 against Thomas Tuchel’s England.

Talking about La Roja, they have conceded only one goal in the seven matches. Unai Simon’s selection as the side’s primary custodian was initially criticised, as David Raya and Joan Garcia had been on the bench. However, the Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper has proved the critics wrong.

The 29-year-old created a World Cup record for most consecutive minutes without conceding a goal before becoming the first goalkeeper to keep six clean sheets in a single edition of the summer competition.

Meanwhile, Mikel Oyarzabal has become one of the three Spanish football players to have scored five goals in a single FIFA World Cup campaign. The Real Sociedad talisman scored two braces in the tournament before he converted a crucial penalty against France in the semi-final.

Spain have played tactically strong football, and their whole team have not looked weak as they have won all their matches in regulation time. Special mention to Mikel Merino, who has scored two late goals for the Spanish side.

Lamine Yamal: Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal suffered a knock during the last game and was seen limping at the end of the semi-final against Les Bleus. However, the 19-year-old has no major fears of injuries and would be back for the summit clash on Sunday.

Pedro Porro: One of Spain’s breakout stars of the ongoing campaign, Pedro Porro has scored two goals for La Roja. He also scored in La Roja’s last game against France, where he reportedly suffered a muscular problem. The extent of Porro’s issue has yet to be revealed; however, he is likely to feature against Argentina.

Yeremy Pino: Crystal Palace attacker Yeremy Pino picked up a shoulder injury in the group-stage win over Uruguay. He has been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament.
