Top 10 managers with most wins in the history of Premier League

The Premier League is one of the most popular and competitive football leagues in the world. It is arguably the best league in Europe, one where all the top managers and players want to work at. Historically, the league has seen legendary players and managers participate in order to achieve success for their respective clubs.
Figures like Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and more recent names like Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have graced the Premier League. There are many more exceptional tacticians who have managed several clubs and achieved a lot of success in the process. Guardiola recently reached 200 wins in just 269 fixtures, making him the fastest to the milestone. However, he ranks way below in terms of overall wins in the league’s history.
Let’s take a look at the top 10 managers with the most wins in the history of the Premier League.
10. Mark Hughes – 158 wins
Mark Hughes has managed teams like Manchester City, Stoke City, Southampton and more in the Premier League. The Welshman has won 158 matches out of the total 466 contests. The 58-year-old is currently without a club and his last job was with Southampton in 2018. He has not won the Premier League yet.
9. Rafael Benitez – 173 wins
Former Liverpool, Newcastle United and current Everton FC manager Rafael Benitez has won 173 matches. The tactician has taken charge of 359 matches as of yet and might come back to Premier League to manage more in future. Benitez has won three trophies with Liverpool, including the UEFA Champions League but the Premier League continues to elude him.
8. Sam Allardyce – 178 wins
Sam Allardyce has a reputation for guiding struggling clubs to avoid relegation. He has worked his charm for outfits like Bolton, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and more. The Englishman has won 178 matches out of 541 games. Allardyce has never managed a top-four side and hence hasn’t come close to winning the Premier League.
7. Jurgen Klopp – 200 wins
Current Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp has won 200 Premier League games after the most recent win over Chelsea. The German tactician has managed 318 matches in the league as of now and will surely few more wins to his record before leaving Liverpool at the end of this season. He has won the league once with the Reds during the 2019-20 season.
6. Pep Guardiola – 211 wins
Pep Guardiola recently reached the 211 wins mark in 287 Premier League matches, the quickest for any manager in the league’s history. The Spaniard has already won three league titles with Manchester City. Guardiola will also add more wins to his record in the forthcoming days and rise up in the rankings.
5. Jose Mourinho – 217 wins
Jose Mourinho is one of the best managers to grace the Premier League and took the league by storm in his first stint with Chelsea . The Portuguese also managed Manchester United after signing for them in 2016. Mourinho has three league titles under his belt, all with the London-based club. However, he is currently managing AS Roma in the Serie A.
4. David Moyes – 265 wins
David Moyes is currently one of the most experienced managers in the Premier League. The former Everton, Manchester United, and Sunderland boss currently manages West Ham United. Moyes has only won one FA Community Shield with the Red Devils and is currently trying to lead the Hammers for an another trophy after winning Europa Conference League recently.
3. Harry Redknapp – 236 wins
Harry Redknapp has managed teams like Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur, and QPR among others and has won 236 matches in the Premier League. He has taken charge of 641 matches overall, the third-highest for any manager in the league. The Englishman has won an FA Cup with Portsmouth but never the Premier League.
2. Arsene Wenger – 476 wins
Arsene Wenger is one of the legendary managers to have taken charge in the Premier League. He has managed only Arsenal in the Premier League for making them a powerhouse in the early 2000s. The Gunners won three titles under him and have not lifted the trophy since. The Frenchman was at the London-based club for 22 years and oversaw 828 matches and 476 wins.
1. Sir Alex Ferguson – 528 wins
Sir Alex Ferguson has won the most number of games as a manager in the history of the Premier League. The legendary Scot won 528 matches from 810 total fixtures as the manager. He won 14 league titles during his 27-year stint with Manchester United. He is arguably the most successful manager in history as he has 48 trophies to his name.
