Sport Clube União Torreense are all set to have a face-off against Sunderland AFC for their second league phase outing of the UEFA Europa League 2026-27 campaign. The Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa is all set to witness this interesting fixture.
The Liga Portugal 2 club initiated their proceedings in the European competition on a positive note. They came out on top, bagging three points against Lillestrøm in a 2-1 win. Torreense will now be eager to extend their winning run, but the upcoming contest is going to be challenging.
The Luís Tralhão-led side at home will be looking to control the game from the start, or else it is going to be a tough outing for them.
Sunderland AFC have performed poorly in their last three Premier League matches. That is surely going to affect their momentum heading into their next UEL fixture. They will be looking to come up with top efforts and get back to winning ways.
Being away from home is going to make things not so easy for Régis Le Bris’ men. They secured a 1-0 win against AZ Alkmaar in their opening game of the UEFA Europa League this season. They will now be keen for another.
Players to Watch
Alejandro Alfaro (Torreense)
Alejandro Alfaro will be eager to step up his game so that he can help his side stand a chance against the Premier League opponent. He will have an important role to play in the midfield and can also help his side in breaking up plays by the rivals. The 24-year-old will be once again deployed in the defensive midfield position.
Enzo Le Fée (Sunderland)
The 26-year-old will have a crucial role to play in the Sunderland squad. He is going to be one of the main men in the midfield, one who is also capable of scoring goals. Enzo Le Fée scored the match-winning penalty against AZ Alkmaar and will be looking to deliver another top performance.
