Europa League Final: David Seamen wants Bernd Leno to start ahead of Petr Cech
The former Arsenal goalkeeper has pleaded Emery to start Bernd Leno ahead of the departing goalkeeper Petr Cech.
David Seamen has adviced Unai Emery not to play Petr Cech in Baku in the Europa League final against Chelsea. Petr Cech is retiring post-Europa League final, and Arsenal would let him play his final game.
Nevertheless, Petr Cech has been the number one choice of Unai Emery when it comes to starting Europa League games. He though has been the deputy to Bernd Leno in the Premier League fixtures.
Cech has already announced his former club and Europa League finalists Chelsea as his next destination, although not as a player but in the role of the Sporting Director.
Seamen don't doubt the professionalism of the now Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech and know that there won't be any conflict of interest due to the announcement.
He said, "I was surprised when I heard it. I was really surprised at the timing of it. I was thinking, 'is that Chelsea that's brought that out, or someone from Arsenal?'"
"Nothing's been confirmed yet, so if Petr plays I wouldn't be worried at all. He's a true professional and even if he is going to join Chelsea, that wouldn't make any difference to his performance."

The former goalkeeper also emphasized the need of Arsenal winning Europa League. To him, it is Arsenal who needs the win most as Chelsea already has Champions League football with them next season.
And so he wants Unai Emery to start with his strongest side, even if it means Bernd Leno starting ahead of Petr Cech and Cech not getting his due farewell.
Seamen although know that Emery will respect the services of Petr Cech and henceforth give him the starting place ahead of the German keeper.

"They need to get into the Champions League and I'm always for playing your strongest team. That means Leno, but I'm sure Cech will play because it's his last ever game."
