Jadon Sancho earns praise after impressive England debut

The Borussia Dortmund youngster is in contention to play against Spain after impressing for the Three Lions in their stalemate against Croatia.
Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho received his first-call up for England against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League. Sancho came on in the 78th minute to replace Raheem Sterling, thus becoming the first player born after 2000 to represent the England senior side.
Gareth Southgate and fellow Three Lions’ teammates were all praises for the 18 year-old’s cameo. Talking to Sky Sports, skipper Harry Kane said, “He’s (Sancho) great. Big congrats to him for his debut. I thought he came on and made an impact as well. He’s been great in training and he has just got to keep working hard and playing games and I’m sure he will have a very bright future.”
Midfielder Eric Dier also had a few words to speak about the former Manchester City youngster. “I think he was fantastic when he came on. He was direct and technically he’s very gifted. Hopefully he can be a big part of England in the future if he keeps working hard.”
Jadon Sancho joined the German side in 2017 and was immediately included in their first team squad. Since then the youngster has appeared 19 times for Die Borussen. However what is really an intriguing stat is that Sancho has the most assists in Europe’s top 5 leagues. The teenager is already been dubbed as the English Neymar.

His debut against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League impressed a lot of Sky Sports pundits as well. “It took him a while to get his first touch but he showed some great glimpses of what we can expect,” said Emile Heskey.

Alex Scott also praised the lad saying, “ He tried to make things happen. He’s shown no fear. He’ll be in contention against Spain.”
