The Norwegian was full of praise for defender Marcos Rojo, who has been delivering excellent performances of late.
Marcos Rojo has seen a resurgence in his United career this season, after a number of poor performances and injuries saw him written off by most fans. The Argentina international played just 26 games in the 2018-2019 season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is widely touted to leave Old Trafford in the summer.
However, the 29-year old has lately begun to validate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to change his decision to sell him. After all he has delivered a number of aggressive yet assured performances in defence of late. In his post match press conference, the United manager hailed Rojo as a “top quality footballer”.
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]"I thought he was excellent tonight. I think he’s been excellent since we started pre-season," Solskjaer said following United’s 3-0 win over Partizan Belgrade at Old Trafford on Thursday in the Europa League.
"He’s played maybe more than he expected but that’s why he’s still here."
"He’s a top-quality footballer."
"He’s a winner, good mentality, he can pass, he can defend."
"It’s now about keeping him fit and he’s been fit now for a long, long time and you can see his qualities."
Solskjaer rubbished the chances of the Argentine leaving United in January saying, ‘You know he’s got such a big heart and such a passion for football and he’s a winner. ‘To have him around when he’s fit and in a good mood, good form, has been great for us. ‘The boys love him, he spreads fear in training sometimes because he tackles properly.’
"He’s one of the ones who really, really cares about this game."
"I think he’s taking his opportunities every time he’s played."
"He did it against Liverpool… fantastic, he wasn’t happy he didn’t play against Bournemouth of course, but he played well tonight," reports Metro.
In his press conference, Solskjaer mentioned that the game against Partizan was a template for how he wanted his side to play, crediting the performance of the front three of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

‘No disrespect to Partizan, but they gave us spaces’
‘But it was pleasing to me that we went forward. Too many times we have been one goal ahead and not gone for the second.’
United take on Brighton in their next Premier League game on Sunday at Old Trafford.
