Wales vs Denmark Preview – prediction, team news, lineups | UEFA Nations League 2026-27

Three teams in Group D are tied at three points each.

Anchored in the western sprawl of the Welsh capital, the Cardiff City Stadium in Wales gears up to host Group 4’s Round 4 fixture of the UEFA Nations League A. Home team Wales and Denmark lock horns in what is set to be a thrilling clash.

The 38th-ranked nation in the world is coming off a stunning 2-1 win over Norway in the last game. Despite conceding an early goal, goals from James and Williams saw Wales clinch a spectacular 2-1 comeback win over 10-man Norway.

Group D is standing in a very interesting scenario. Portugal are atop with nine points. But the three other teams, Wales, Denmark and Norway, are jointly tied at three points each. The margins are so fine.

A lot is at stake for both Wales and Denmark in the last game. The latter are coming off a 4-2 defeat against Portugal in the last game. Wales are led by Craig Bellamy, who has previously been in the dugout of Anderlecht and Burnley.

Denmark, on the other hand, are led by Brian Riemer. He has been at the helm of Danish football since October 2024. He has previously led teams like Anderlecht and Brentford.

The Welsh captain has made over a century of appearances for the national team. He will be keen to extend the winning streak to two when his side take on Denmark next.

A Tottenham Hotspur legend with over 300+ appearances, Davies will be tasked with the responsibility of keeping Rasmus Hojlund quiet, who has been in red-hot form. The Danish offence has so much experience in the form of Damsgaard and Daramy. Davies will leave no stone unturned to clinch a clean sheet.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (Denmark)

The Danish captain, aged 31, also plied his trade with the North London outfit. He has donned jerseys of several top clubs like Bayern Munich and Southampton before finding his new home in France with Marseille, where his tenure as a loanee grabbed a lot of eyeballs.

The midfield duo of Hjulmand and Hojberg will be looking forward to controlling the pace and tempo of the game. They will face the midfield duo of Ampadu and James.

The Danish midfield has created ample chances in the last few matches.
