Baleba has yet to make his official debut for the Red Devils.
Carlos Baleba’s move to Manchester United from Brighton and Hove Albion was one of the biggest deals of the summer transfer window. The Cameroonian midfielder joined in a deal worth up to £70 million and signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford.
His arrival was part of a larger overhaul of the United midfield, with the Red Devils also signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. However, Baleba has not made his official debut for his new club yet.
The 22-year-old arrived carrying an ankle injury that he suffered during Brighton’s pre-season friendly against Strasbourg. He has been out of first-team contention for over a month since signing for the Red Devils.
The Cameroonian made his first unofficial appearance for his new club on October 2. He played in a closed-door friendly against Swiss side Lausanne-Sport. The match was played at Carrington.

Having returned to full fitness, Baleba is nearing his official debut for his new club. He had previously been an unused substitute during United’s Premier League match against Fulham on September 20.
Head coach Michael Carrick had earlier said during the closed-door friendly that Baleba is “pushing to get back as quickly as possible” from his injury. He is in line to make his debut during United’s next league game against Tottenham Hotspur on October 10.
The Cameroonian could become the fifth player to make his competitive debut under Carrick. If the United head coach opts to play Baleba, he is unlikely to start and will likely come on as a second-half substitute.
The Red Devils have several players who remain injury doubts. Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo, and Benjamin Sesko will face late fitness tests to see if they will play any part in the match against Spurs.
