Les Bleus sealed a comfortable 2-0 win over the Atlas Lions tonight.
France cruised past Morocco in an exciting FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final clash at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 9. Kylian Mbappe was the star of the show for the two-time world champions, scoring once and registering an assist for Didier Deschamps’ side.
Mbappe had a shaky start to the contest, missing from the spot just before the half-hour mark. Noussair Mazraoui fouled the Real Madrid forward in the box. But his effort from 12 yards out was saved brilliantly by Yassine Bounou.
However, the talismanic forward made amends in the second half. Finding himself on the edge of the box, he curled an effort around Issa Diop and into the back of the net, just past Bounou’s reach.
Just six minutes later, he set up Ousmane Dembele, who fired his effort into the bottom corner from 20 yards out. That goal sealed the win for the European giants, who became the first team to progress to the semi-finals of the expanded 48-team edition in North America.
