Erling Haaland broke the deadlock and gave the Vikings a one-goal lead in the 80th minute. Shortly after he completed his brace, which also helped his side secure a victory against the five-time world champions, Brazil.

Neymar did convert a spot kick in stoppage time, but it only worked as a consolation prize for them. The Canarinho have been eliminated from the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Ståle Solbakken’s men must do better in the final third. They surely had control of the ball for most of the game, but their performance in the attacking third was not the best. Haaland continues to deliver for his nation and it will be interesting to see them in the quarterfinals.
