The Schweizer-Nati beat Los Cafeteros on penalties in tonight’s match.
Switzerland sealed a dramatic penalty-shootout win over Colombia in their Round of 16 clash in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada, on July 7. The match ended goalless in regulation time, with the result being ultimately decided from the spot.
Both sides had plenty of chances to break the deadlock, but neither could find the back of the net in 120 minutes of football. As the match went to spot kicks, Davinson Sanchez and Manuel Akanji missed their respective efforts.
Cucho Hernandez then saw his kick saved by Gregor Kobel, allowing Ruben Vargas to score the winning penalty to seal a 4-3 victory for the European side.
