Federico Valverde withdrew from the Uruguay national football team for the September-October international window after sustaining an ankle injury during the recent Madrid derby in LaLiga.
Emiliano Martinez replaced him to join the squad and is expected to start against India in the defensive midfield position. Valverde has been playing a crucial role for both his club and country. Martinez will be looking to step up his game so that he can help La Celeste in their away fixture.
