Many Los Blancos players are set to attend the ceremony.
For the first time since 2024, Real Madrid will have a representative at the Ballon d’Or 2026 ceremony tonight. The LaLiga giants have boycotted the last two presentations after Vinicius Junior just lost out on the prize in 2024.
The Brazilian winger finished with 1,129 points, behind champion Rodri, who received 1,170 votes after his involvement in Manchester City’s Premier League title as well as Spain’s European Championship glory.
This year’s ceremony will also be attended by Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid’s head of institutional relations and ambassador, and Ballon d’Or nominee Marc Cucurella. Yan Diomande and Felicia Schroder are both nominated for the Kopa Trophy for best young male and female player, respectively, and will be in attendance.
However, the most important person on Madrid’s board will not be attending the ceremony despite the club withdrawing their boycott of the award. Kylian Mbappe, one of the frontrunners, will certainly be in attendance as he is one of the favourites to lift the prize alongside Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal.
