Women’s Ballon d’Or 2026: Full list of 30 nominees revealed
This will be the eighth edition of the prestigious individual award for women!
The race for the Ballon d’Or Féminin 2026 is going to be just as competitive, with the world’s leading female footballers coming up with top of the line performances throughout the year. The list can include prolific goalscorers, creative midfielders, commanding defenders and even goalkeepers.
To determine the Ballon d’Or winner every year, the things that influence the chances are domestic league success, performances during the European competition and efforts with their respective national teams. The prestigious individual award for women has already been hosted seven times before. Spain’s Aitana Bonmatí has won this award the record number of times (3).
The only player who was not born in Europe and won the Women’s Ballon d’Or is Megan Rapinoe. She is also the only star who was not playing in Europe at the time of winning the prestigious title. It will be interesting to see who will take the award home this year after the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday, October 26, in London, England.
