Tajikistan 1-0 Timor-Leste

The Central Republic Stadium in Dushanbe geared up to cheer louder for the home team as they hosted Timor Leste. A solitary early goal from Vahdat Hanonov, who plies his trade for the Persian Gulf Pro League club Sepahan, was the only differentiating point in the match.

Bhutan 0-0 Yemen

The capital city of Thimphu hosted the Yemen national team for an interesting match. With both sides exhibiting their defensive prowess, the match ended in a goalless draw as the hosts failed to find the back of the net against the Arabian Felix.

Group C

India 0-0 Bangladesh

Amidst a lot of buzz for this match as Bangladesh featured a famous English Premier League footballer, Hamza Choudhary, the match ended in a stalemate. Shillong turned out in large numbers to support the Blue Tigers, but a fair display of defensive resilience from both teams saw them sharing the spoils.

Singapore 0-0 Hong Kong

The National Stadium hosted the Pearl of the Orient as Singapore kick-started their AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifier campaign. The past two fixtures between these two teams ended in a stalemate, and this match was no exception as both teams failed to find the back of the net.

Group D

Chinese Taipei 1-2 Turkmenistan

The Kaohsiung National Stadium in Taiwan hosted Chinese Taipei and Turkmenistan. After Tagayew gave the away side a crucial lead, it was Kouame who equalised the match in the 63rd minute. However, an 83rd-minute late winner from Gurbanow was enough to see the away side walking away with all three points.

Thailand 1-0 Sri Lanka

The City of Angels, Bangkok, hosted the Sri Lankan football team as Thailand began their quest to reach the Saudi Arabia. A solitary goal from Gustavsson in the 43rd minute was enough to seal a victory for the hosts. Thailand took a significant leap in the points table with this win.

Group E

Myanmar 2-1 Afghanistan

Yangon geared up to welcome the Afghans and the home side for an exciting clash. It was Popalzay who gave an early lead for the away side in just 14 minutes. However, the home side, fueled by the support from the home fans scripted a comeback win after trailing a goal behind.

Group F

Vietnam 5-0 Laos

One of the most improved and upgraded teams in Asian football, Vietnam, managed to secure a dominating 5-0 win over Laos to take a humongous lead in the points table with a massive goal difference. The match saw goals from Chau, Nguyen and a brace from VV Nguyen.

Malaysia 2-0 Nepal

The Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Gelang Patah hosted Nepal. Malaysia broke the deadlock after Hevel found the back of the net in the 29th minute. A 70th minute strike from Corbin-Ong saw the hosts secure a comfortable victory.
