5. Shola Ameobi (298 PL matches)
Hailing from Nigeria, Shola Ameobi is known for his stunning displays during his time at Newcastle United. For most of his career, Shola Ameobi was a part of the Magpies. The Nigerian striker appeared in 298 Premier League games for Newcastle United and scored 43 goals in the EPL.
4. Mohamed Salah (301 matches)
Once, Mohamed Salah was a forgotten part of Chelsea, and now he is one of the most important players for Liverpool. The Egyptian winger has contested 301 Premier League games for the Reds and has scored 186 goals. During the 2024-25 campaign with Liverpool, he won the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker award because he had the most goals and assists.
3. Wilfried Zaha (305 matches)
For most of his Premier League career, Wilfried Zaha played for Crystal Palace. The Ivory Coast winger also played a couple of matches for Manchester United. Zaha played in several other leagues, but it was for the Eagles that he played the most matches.
He appeared 305 times in the Premier League and scored 68 goals.
2. Jordan Ayew (305 matches)
The Ghana national football team forward is one of the African players with the most appearances in the Premier League history. Jordan Ayew currently plays for Leicester City but has played most of his EPL matches for Crystal Palace. He was also a part of Swansea City from 2017-19.
Ayew has also played some matches for Aston Villa. With this, he has played 305 Premier League matches and has scored 42 goals.
1. Kolo Toure (353 matches)
The Ivory Coast centre back is the African player with the most appearances in Premier League history. Kolo Toure was a part of Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool during his time in the English Premier League. He played the majority of his matches for the Gunners.
Meanwhile, he also played a decent number of matches for Man City and the Reds.
