Al Ain secured a dominant win in the first leg

If Al Hilal hopes to make it to the next round, they must start on a positive note. In the first leg, the opponents outclassed them, a sight that is extremely rare for them to see against them after their dominance of 32 games. Apart from their stellar season in the Saudi Pro League, this is their best shot at a quadruple.

It was a surprise for everyone to see Al Ain win the first leg 4-2, but the tie is still very much alive as they can’t underestimate them. They have done well in the AFC Champions League beating Al Nassr in the previous round. It remains to be seen whether they will beat another Saudi outfit.

Kick-Off:

Tue,23 April at 11:30 PM IST

Location: Kingdom Arena

Form:

Al Hilal (in all competitions): L-W-W-W-W

Al Ain (in all competitions): W-D-L-L-D

Player to Watch

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (Al Hilal)

Al Hilal’s key man will be Milinkovic-Savic in this match because with his darting runs from midfield this season, he can be the danger man for the opposition. As well as scoring 13 goals in all competitions, he also provided 14 assists, which highlights his importance to the team.

Soufiane Rahimi (Al Ain)

Soufiane Rahimi surprised everyone in the first leg by scoring a hattrick against Al Hilal, which is unusual for a player this season. His 11 goals make him the top scorer in the tournament. Because he is 3 goals ahead of Mitrovic, who is currently out injured, he is very much the favourite to win the top scorer award.

Match Facts

  • Al Hilal suffered their first defeat in 32 matches
  • Al-Ain have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last five matches
