The six-time world champions, Brazil, are all set to lock horns with the Morocco national football team for their first group stage fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A Selecao have been in a decent run of form ahead of the mega competition. They are coming in after securing wins against Panama and Egypt in their international friendlies ahead of the World Cup.

The Brazil national football team are going to have a tough outing against the Atlas Lions, who are undefeated in their last 28 matches. The Carlo Ancelotti-led side still needs to build strong tactics so that they can excel on the grandest stage of them all.

Neymar’s return to team training set for next week

The 34-year-old faced a minor calf injury ahead of being selected for Brazil’s final squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026. He is all set to miss Selecao’s opening game against Morocco as he is still recovering from the injury.

During the recent press conference Carlo Ancelotti said, “Neymar is working very hard to recover as quickly as possible. The expectation is that he will recover and rejoin the group next week. When we call up Neymar, we call him up not only for his technical quality, which is indisputable, but also for his experience and the example he can represent for the young players we have in this group.”

The Santos forward did not take part in any of the friendlies for Brazil ahead of the World Cup. With this recent update, the Brazilian supporters will surely have smiles on their faces.

Vinicius Junior, Raphinha and Matheus Cunha are going to be an important aspect of the squad in the final third. In the 3-man midfield system, Casemiro, Lucas Paqueta and Bruno Guimaraes will have a crucial role.

Forming a strong backline will be Marquinhos, Gabriel, Danilo and Alex Sandro. Between the sticks, it is going to be Liverpool’s star goalkeeper Alisson.
