Arsenal's Riccardo Calafiori & Gabriel Magalhaes out with injuries

The Gunners are currently top of the Premier League table.

Italy manager Gennaro Gattuso has stated that Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori was dropped from the international team owing to an injury.

Gattuso stated that it would not be “fair” for him or Arsenal to play, thus the full-back would be absent from Italy’s final World Cup qualifier encounter against Norway on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Brazil national team released a statement on Sunday afternoon regarding Gabriel Magalhaes’s injury diagnosis. His parent club have also been informed.

Arsenal learn update on Gabriel Magalhaes’ injury

Brazil have now provided an update on the 27-year-old’s condition, stating that he will not play in their next friendly match against Tunisia due to a thigh injury in his right leg.

“Gabriel Magalhaes will not travel with the team for the game against Tunisia,” a statement read. “The defender left the field yesterday after feeling pain in the adductor muscle of his right thigh.

“Arsenal player Gabriel Magalhaes was re-evaluated this Sunday (16) and underwent imaging tests that revealed a muscle injury in his right thigh. Therefore, the player will not travel with the team to the match against Tunisia in Lille. No other player will be called up to replace him.”

Although it’s still unclear how long Gabriel Magalhaes’ problem will keep him out of action, even minor thigh injuries frequently require two or three weeks to heal. So it’s not out of the question that he might miss all games, including Spurs, Bayern, and Chelsea, over the course of the next two weeks.

On November 23, Arsenal, who lead the Premier League standings with 26 points, will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the first north London derby of the season.

Arsenal, who are currently without Martin Ødegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Victor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke, and Kai Havertz, will surely be devastated by the injuries to Riccardo Calafiori and Magalhaes.

How long will Gabriel be out?

It has not been confirmed yet.

How long will Calafiori be out?

Which injury has the Brazilian suffered?
