Brazil will face England and Spain in March friendlies
Due to an injury, Gabriel Magalhaes of Arsenal has withdrawals from the Brazil team for friendlies later this month. Monday night, the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) revealed the modifications made to the first team that head coach Dorival Junior had selected at the beginning of March.
Galeno, an attacking player for Porto who defeated Arsenal in the first leg of their round 16 match in the Champions League, has taken Martinelli’s spot. Leo Jardim, the custodian for Vasco da Gama, will take Ederson’s spot. Due to an injury, Flamengo defender Fabricio Bruno was also brought into the team in lieu of Marquinhos, the leader of Paris Saint-Germain.
With all three of the recent recruits at the senior international level, Brazil will be playing with more than just an experimental lineup when they take against Spain at the Bernabeu and England at Wembley on March 26 and 23, respectively.
Only nine of the 26 players have earned more than ten caps for their country, and 11 of them—including all three goalkeepers given that regular starter Alisson has already been ruled out—had never before stepped foot on the Selecao field.
