Barcelona send new bid for Dani Olmo; six-year player contract agreed
The Spanish club have sent a third bid to RB Leipzig.
Barcelona have struck an agreement with Dani Olmo on a deal up to 2030. The club have also sent a new bid to RB Leipzig. The bid is in the range of €55 million guaranteed, €4 million for easy add-ons and €3 million for difficult add-ons.
The Spanish club have received the green light from Olmo for a personal agreement. Now the main objective is to secure an agreement with RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga club had turned down Barcelona’s second bid for the forward. The second bid was around €45–50 million in fixed fee, with €10–15 million available in variables.
Barca will now hope that their third bid tempts the German club to sell Olmo to the Catalan side. Leipzig want a guaranteed €55 million for the player, and now a deal could be struck between the two clubs.
Since stepping up for the injured Pedri in the centre of Spain‘s midfield during the Euro 2024, Olmo’s reputation has grown. He instantly clicked with La Roja and helped them win the championship.
Olmo was also Spain’s top scorer with three goals and an assist. The forward attracted many clubs as a result of his display in the competition.
Meanwhile, Barcelona will hope to wrap up the deal as quickly as possible given their pursuit of Nico Williams came to a standstill. Williams is set to continue at Athletic Bilbao.
Olmo is an attacking midfielder, and Barcelona already boasts plenty of options in the middle of the pitch. Nonetheless, the 26-year-old can also operate from the left wing, where the club have been looking to find a player.
However, many fans wouldn’t be content with the signing. They were hoping the club would bring Williams. Olmo certainly meets the requirements to be a Barca player. The Euros showed us that he can play to his full potential if he plays in a suitable position. Barcelona will hope that Olmo lives up to the price they are going to pay to the Bundesliga side.
