Bruno Fernandes is leading Manchester United this season
El Nacional, which cited unnamed sources, claims that FC Barcelona have begun negotiations to potentially recruit Bruno Fernandes, a standout player for Manchester United.
The Red Devils are anticipated to undertake a much-needed summer clearout under a new shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, which may include selling off a number of Erik ten Hag’s team members.
The Daily Mail in the UK claims that the Dutch coach himself ought to remain at Old Trafford, but that does not imply that other important players at the Premier League’s biggest clubs won’t be given the boot.
The only players on Ten Hag’s struggling team who haven’t been listed for sale are Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, and Rasmus Hojlund, according to The Mirror. This also includes his captain, Bruno Fernandes.
El Nacional reports on Thursday that FC Barcelona have received an offer for Fernandes from the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, who is a friend of Joan Laporta, the president of the Catalans.
Barca have, in turn, initiated initial discussion over the cost of purchasing the Portuguese.

Though Fernandes does not now publicly seem to be considering leaving his present club, the publication explains that United would be happy to incorporate Fernandes in a possible deal that gets Frenkie de Jong to Old Trafford.
“I don’t have thoughts for other things at the moment. It doesn’t just depend on me,” he said when probed on his future by DAZN Portugal this week.
“So, if you want me to be very honest, if I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, it won’t be until after the Euros.
“We can end the season by winning the FA Cup, then we have the European Championship, which is very important for us.
“Nothing will take my focus away from this end of the league season, the FA Cup and the European Championship. There is nothing more important than that at the moment,” Fernandes insisted, before revealing that he feels wanted in northwestern England, where he has been for five seasons.
“A player always has to want to be here, but at the same time, you have to want him to stay. At the moment, I feel there’s that on both sides” he stated.
“I’m not thinking too much about the future, not least because, obviously, this season hasn’t been at the level I’d hoped for, either individually or collectively, so far.”
“I want to be competitive, I want to compete, I want to win,” added the 29-year-old, who has a contract until mid-2026 with United.
