Scotland along with England are the joint oldest international football team in the world. They played the first-ever international game in football against England in 1872. They have had a huge rivalry with England to date. The team play in a dark blue jersey and have their home ground at Hampden Park in Glasgow. Their passionate fans known as the Tartan Army, who have always supported their football team with fervour.
Legends like Kenny Dalglish and Denis Law have graced the football field wearing the Scottish jersey. The team has faced their fair share of challenges but have fought hard amidst all these adversity. They do have a bright future ahead of them. 5. Che Adams
Che Adams is a forward who plays for the English club Southampton. He represents Scotland in the international level. He could have played for England (his country of birth) or Antigua and Barbuda (where his father was born). However, he chose to ply his trade for Scotland.
He has recently been called up by Scotland to feature for the team in the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024. Adams also featured in the opening game against Germany in the 2024 Euros opening match but had to leave the field at halftime. He recorded 17 goals and 6 assists in 46 games during the 2023-24 season.
4. Kieran Tierney
Kieran Tierney plays as a left-back for the Scottish football team. His parent club is Arsenal but he was on loan at Real Sociedad last season. Tierney started his career in the Celtic youth system. He played his first full international match in 2016.
Meanwhile, Arsenal managed to buy him for £25m. It was a record fee for any Scottish player and that too from the Scottish league. However, his future in club football is not stable. Arsenal are looking to offload him in the summer transfer window of 2024. He managed to record just 2 assists in the 27 games during the 2023-24 season, on loan at Real Sociedad.

3. John McGinn
John McGinn is currently plying his trade as either a midfielder or winger for the English Premier League club Aston Villa. He also features in the Scottish national football team regularly.
He came up through the ranks from the club St Mirren and managed to win his first Scottish Premier League title in 2013. In 2018, he made his transfer to English football and signed for Aston Villa. He registered 9 goals and 7 assists during the 202-24 season.
2. Scott McTominay
Scott McTominay features as a midfielder for the Premier League club Manchester United and the Scottish national football team. He came up through the ranks from the youth team at Manchester United. He has got his chance to play for the Scotland football team as his father comes from Helensburgh.
McTominay earned his national football team debut in 2018 and is also currently playing in the UEFA Euro 2024. He scored 10 goals and registered 3 assists from 43 games played in the 2023-24 season.
1. Andrew Robertson
Andrew Robertson plays as the first choice left-back for Liverpool in the English Premier League and is also the captain of the Scottish national football team. He is arguably one of the best left-backs in the world. He came through the ranks in Queens Park.
He joined Liverpool in 2017 and has been a mainstay for the club since then. He made his international debut in 2014 and earned his captain’s armband in 2018. Since then, he has been an integral part of the national team and is also currently playing in the UEFA Euro 2024. Roberston has 3 goals and 2 assists from the 30 games played in the 2023-24 season.
