Wingers are players with great pace, dribbling abilities, and shooting skills and are very creative as well. The Premier League had some of the best wingers over the years. This includes the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and many more. Over the last few years, there have been some blooming young wingers as well. Let’s take a look at the U-23 wingers in the Premier League.

10. Simon Adingra

2023 AFCON winner Simon Adingra is doing well for Brighton this season in the Premier League. The Ivory Coast winger joined Brighton in June 2022. Simon Adingra then joined Brighton’s sister club Union SG on loan where he scored 11 goals.

Upon returning in the 2023-2024 season, Simon now has scored six goals for Brighton. Adingra scored a brace against Sheffield United as he looks to score more goals and help Brighton achieve a top-six finish.

Over the last few seasons, Manchester United have had various problems and managerial changes as well. During this period, many talented players struggled a lot and often could not break into the first team. Elanga being one of them barely ever started and chose to leave his boyhood club Manchester United and join Nottingham Forest.

England international and Chelsea player Moni Madueke was not always a winger. In his earlier days, he used to be a central midfielder at PSV. Noni Madueke gradually became a winger.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are a completely new team, a team full of youngsters and Noni Madueke is one of the few players who are settling well into the team. Noni Madueke just recently scored a great solo goal from the right wing in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. Madueke has scored only two goals in the Premier League for Chelsea this season but has lots of potential to live up to.

Everything went uphill for Manchester City’s new winger in January 2024. Manchester City were losing against Newcastle but their midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne returned after a long injury. It did not take time for De Bruyne to settle in as he scored a goal to get City level with Newcastle and assisted Oscar Bobb. Bobb scored a beautiful goal as Manchester City won 3-2 against Newcastle in the dying minutes. Bobb’s winning goal won the January Premier League goal of the month as well.

Manchester United have a deadly winger on their hands. Alejandro Garnacho has risen up quickly under Erik Ten Hag and is one the best wingers in the Premier League.

Garnacho has scored 7 goals and assisted 4 times in 28 Premier League appearances in the 2023-2024 season. Moreover, the youngster is excellent on the ball and off the ball as well. Garnacho had scored 7 goals during the entire season in 2022-2023 and as of now the Argentine has improved a lot and is looking to add more goals to his tally.

Tottenham Hotspur spent a whopping 47 million to sign Brennan Johnson. The Wales international is one of the key players for Tottenham Hotspur.

Brennan Johnson has scored 5 goals and has assisted 7 times in the 2023-2024 Premier League season. Brennan has had a slow start in the Premier League but is picking up pace. Johnson just recently scored an 89th-minute winner against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League to secure all three points for Spurs.

Olise is at an age where legendary French wingers proved their potential consistently over the years. As of now, Olise has had his fair share of injuries in the 2023-2024 Premier League season. Michael has missed 16 Premier League games this season because of a hamstring injury hindering his performance.

Despite a hamstring injury, Olise has scored six goals and has three assists this season in 11 Premier League appearances. The Frenchman is still very young and has lots of potential if he is to become a legendary winger.

From Paulisto to Arsenal, Brazil have once again produced another talented player. Gabriel Martinelli has improved drastically since joining Arsenal in the 2020-2021 season.

The Brazilian winger is facing minor injury issues in the 2023-2024 season. Nonetheless, Martinelli has scored 7 goals and has 4 assists in 29 Premier League appearances for Arsenal. The Brazilian winger is Arsenal’s key attacking threat down the left wing as he uses his speed and dribbling abilities to expose opponents’ defence line.

Yet another Manchester City winger has made it to this list. Pep Guardiola has found a gem of a player in Belgian international Jeremy Doku as Manchester City signed him from Rennes in the 2022-2023 season. Doku has often found it difficult to start for Manchester City since Pep Guardiola makes a lot of frequent changes to his starting XI.

Despite this, Jeremy Doku has scored 3 goals and has 6 assists in the 2023-2024 Premier League season. Moreover, Doku is a very direct winger and often uses his speed to dribble past opponents and create chances out of nothing. Arsenal’s star boy, Bukayo Saka is arguably one of the best wingers in the world right now. Saka has been consistently scoring ten plus goals for Arsenal in the Premier League for the past three seasons.

Saka has a staggering thirteen goals and eight assists in 28 Premier League appearances for Arsenal in the 2023-2024 season. Saka also scored in a crucial home win against Liverpool. Bukayo is Arsenal’s best winger this season as the Gunners look to win the remaining matches of the Premier League.
