The German club will face Fluminense in their opening match of the tournament.
During the FIFA Club World Cup, which takes place from June 14 to July 13, Borussia Dortmund will be without their captain, Emre Can. Due to unresolved adductor issues, the 31-year-old will not participate in the tournament and will not be travelling to the United States.
Salih Özcan will also be absent from BVB. The midfield player will not be travelling to America with the Turkish national team because of a hamstring injury he sustained while playing for them.
Borussia Dortmund’s 2025 FIFA Club World Cup team has been formally revealed. Jobe Bellingham, a recent addition to the 28-man roster, had his transfer from Sunderland confirmed earlier Tuesday.
Borussia Dortmund want to immediately incorporate him into the team, which is why he will be joining them in the United States, even though he was named in England’s preliminary U21 Euro squad.
Under head coach Niko Kovac, Bellingham is set to don the number 77 jersey at the Club World Cup and will be looking to make his debut for the Black and Yellows.
Despite persistent transfer rumours, Jamie Gittens has been added to the team. Carney Chukwuemeka has also been added to the list, despite the fact that his Chelsea loan is now scheduled to expire at the end of June.
This weekend marks the start of the Club World Cup in the USA. On Tuesday, BVB will play Fluminense in their first match. Dortmund’s direct rivals, Bayern Munich, have also revealed their squad for the tournament.
