Borussia Dortmund Pre-Season 2025: Schedule, fixtures, results & how to watch

BVB summed up their 2024-25 season without any trophies.

The Black and Yellow are regarded as one of the best clubs in Germany. However, with a dismal last season, Borussia Dortmund will now have to work harder and win some trophies in the upcoming season. They will soon start their grind for the upcoming season.

The German giants began their last campaign not on a very positive note. They initially struggled in the Bundesliga but eventually climbed to the fourth spot by the end of the season. With this, they also secured a spot in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League.

Even though they have not been crowned as the German champions for a long time, they still are the second most decorated club in Germany.

Borussia Dortmund also put up a poor effort in the DFB-Pokal. They faced a defeat at the hands of VfL Wolfsburg in the second round of the German Cup, forcing their elimination from the competition.

Their Champions League run also did not last very long. Dortmund faced Barcelona in the quarterfinals of the tournament. After a close battle, the Bundesliga side lost the game, which resulted in their elimination from the European competition.

BVB began their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 run by topping Group F. They then got past Monterrey in the round of 16 of the mega competition. But their campaign only lasted till the quarterfinals as Borussia Dortmund fell prey to Real Madrid in the last eight stage.

The Niko Kovač-led side will have to step up their game and build up a cohesive unit within the squad going into the new season. They might even go on and look for some players on the transfer market. There is still a lot of time left, and Borussia Dortmund can make some new additions for their squad as per their needs.
