Brazil magazine planning documentary-type interview with Dani Alves after ‘paying for his €1m bail’

The fullback was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of rape
Dani Alves has been released by a Spanish court after a Brazilian magazine paid a mammoth of €1m (£850,000) bail. The Magazine is said to be conducting an exclusive interview of the fullback and understanding his football career and his nightclub incident.
After putting down the money, Dani Alves was allowed to leave prison on Monday after serving a 13-month sentence. The 40-year-old was suspected of raping a young woman in a nightclub restroom in the Spanish city early on December 31, 2022, and has been detained at Brians 2 Jail near Catalonia since January 2023.
He was sentenced to four and a half years in prison after being convicted guilty of rape last month; he then filed an appeal. Alves requested to be freed on bail, on a €1 million bond.
The Brazilian allegedly had two bank accounts that were in the red and one that was empty, so it looked like he would have trouble raising this amount. However, on Monday, he paid the price and was allowed to leave prison.

There has been conjecture regarding the origin of the payment since Memphis Depay’s representative refuted rumours that the Atletico Madrid forward had covered Alves’ bail.Neymar’s father, a Brazilian teammate, was supposed to assist Alves in providing the funds necessary to obtain his release; however, under political pressure in his native country, he released a statement in which he denied providing any money.
‘The magazine, known in Brazil, does great reports on important people in Brazil, but also internationally,’ Blazquez said.
‘There are a series of requirements that must be met. An interview would be being conducted as a video report on Alves’ story and, in addition, Alves would have asked Joana Sanz to participate in this report.
‘[The payment] would have been an advance as payment for that documentary-type interview that is being done.’
