Brighton break all time Premier League record for most profit in financial year 2022-23
Brighton are currently ninth in league this season
Brighton‘s best-ever season on the pitch combined with a string of successful player sales allowed the club to achieve a Premier League record profit after taxes of £122.8 million ($155 million) last season.
By placing sixth in the Premier League and making it to the FA Cup semifinals, the Seagulls earned their first trip to Europe, contributing to a £204.5 million increase in revenue. That was in spite of the fact that Chelsea acquired Marc Cucurella from Brighton for an estimated £60 million, along with manager Graham Potter.Brighton’s £144 million profit on player transfers was aided by the transfers of Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool and Yves Bissouma to Tottenham.
“These accounts will of course catch the eye, because of the headline number,” Barber said in a club statement.
“In a season when we made history on the pitch we took a huge step forward in terms of the club’s long-held aim of becoming more sustainable and less reliant on (owner) Tony Bloom’s incredibly generous levels of investment.”

The team also revealed on Tuesday that Paul Barber, the highly regarded chief executive, has inked a new deal that will last until 2030. Bloom, a professional gambler and lifelong Brighton supporter who also owns Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium, has had his interest-free loan from Brighton lowered from £406.5 million to £373.3 million.Next time of year, Roberto De Zerbi, the manager of Brighton, is rumoured to be taking over at Bayern Munich and Liverpool.Barber, however, stated that Brighton’s goals are still to win their first-ever major prize and return to Europe. Brighton sit ninth in the Premier League with nine games remaining this season.
