Several German top-tier teams have appointed new captains this season.

The Bundesliga’s new season has begun. This season once again there will be a lot of surprises for us. Last term we witnessed how Bayern Munich were dethroned from their dominance as Bayer Leverkusen won the league title under the guidance of Xabi Alonso.

There are new faces who were made captains to lead the team. This article will highlight every club and their appointed captain.

Due to a new regulation that only allows the person wearing an armband to speak with the referee, Bundesliga leaders will have more responsibility this season.

Xabi Alonso’s team will be captained by the double-winning goalie Hrádecký this campaign. Entering his sixth season with the team, the dependable Finnish custodian arrived from Bundesliga opponents Eintracht Frankfurt in 2018.

Following the loss of captain Waturu Endō to Liverpool in 2023, VfB Stuttgart have had further hardship as Waldemar Anton, his successor, joined Borussia Dortmund. Atakan Karazor was awarded the armband during the preseason and is now the permanent recipient of the band accompanied by its duties.

Manuel Neuer, a mainstay of Bayern and Germany, will continue to lead his team this 2024-25 campaign. New head coach Vincent Kompany will surely require the 38-year-old’s leadership qualities given his 350+ Bundesliga appearances for the Bayern team.
