Bayern Munich have been the most dominant club in Germany
The Bundesliga is the top division in German football that is organised every season. 18 clubs participate in the competition and play 34 matches each. The team that finishes at the top of the table is declared the winner.
The bottom two teams in the league table get relegated and the team third-bottom has to go through a relegation play-off round. Two teams from the second division are promoted to the Bundesliga.
Bayern Munich are the most successful team in Germany. They have won 33 titles until the 2024-25 season and finished as the runners-up 11 times. Borussia Dortmund and Monchengladbach have won five titles each. Werder Bremen is behind them by four titles.
Bayer Leverkusen won their first title under Xabi Alonso in the 2023-24 season. They secured the title in matchweek 29 with an unbeaten record.
German legend Gerd Muller is the highest goal-scorer with 365 goals to his name. Robert Lewandowski is behind him on 312 goals and is the highest goal-scoring foreign player.
Charly Korbel made the most appearances (602) in the Bundesliga. He is followed by Manfred Kaltz and Oliver Kahn.
