Carlos Tevez, a former striker for West Ham, Manchester United, and Man City, was admitted to the hospital in Buenos Aires due to chest symptoms.
The 40-year-old was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday night after expressing discomfort in his chest. He was then held overnight.
Tevez, the head coach of the Argentine team Independiente at the moment, is still being tested at the hospital on Wednesday after preliminary “studies” yielded negative results.
“Our coach, Carlos Tevez, entered the La Trinidad Sanatorium in San Isidro with chest pain,” Independiente wrote on X.
“They carried out the corresponding studies and they were satisfactory. Tomorrow you will continue with a series of exams scheduled in advance as part of a general check-up that is usually carried out.”
A later post added: “Carlos Tevez will be hospitalised as a precaution until the corresponding studies are completed.”

Tévez, according to Independiente, will stay in the hospital through the night “as a precaution” and undergo additional standard examinations on Wednesday.
Tévez joined Independiente in August 2023 and just inked a contract extension that would keep him there until 2026.
The three-time Premier League champion served as a player for several European teams, including West Ham United, Juventus, and both Manchester teams.
