Casemiro set for bumper pay rise if Manchester United secure Champions League spot

The Brazilian joined the Red Devils in 2022.
If Manchester United win the UEFA Europa League, Casemiro may receive a big pay raise. A provision in the Brazilian’s contract states that if United return to the UEFA Champions League, he will receive a 25% pay increase.
Casemiro will receive a staggering £100,000 weekly pay increase if United win the Europa League final in Bilbao on May 21.
According to the Star, this would raise the midfielder’s weekly salary to an incredible £5000,000, which is the same amount Cristiano Ronaldo was making during his second tenure at Old Trafford.
When Casemiro moved from Real Madrid to United in 2022—when United were not playing in the Champions League—he accepted these conditions. Ruben Amorim may face a big dilemma this summer as a result of this circumstance.
Club officials may decide to sell the 33-year-old due to the possible financial consequences for United. Amorim has been directed by co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe to lower the salary bill during the off-season as part of Old Trafford’s continuous cost-cutting initiatives.
It was anticipated that Casemiro, United’s highest-paid player, would leave. Amorim still thinks highly of Casemiro, nevertheless, who has recovered from difficult circumstances to return to his peak performance.
In last week’s Europa League semi-final first leg, United defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-0 thanks to a superb effort by Casemiro. The player said earlier this season that he had no plans to leave United, despite rumours.
He confirmed that he and his family are happy in Manchester and that he sees himself playing for the English football powerhouses in the future.
However, when Ruben Amorim was appointed as United’s new manager, the Brazilian midfielder wasn’t able to gain the trust of the Portuguese head coach early on with his performance.
But when given some minutes on the pitch, Casemiro has been brilliant. He will be important for the club’s bid to win the UEFA Europa League trophy this season and secure a spot in the Champions League.
