The Blues are looking to profit and have put Reece James on sale
Reece James, the club leader, is apparently set to be sold by Chelsea at the end of the current campaign. The decision to sever connections with the academy graduate seems to have been made, as the fullback has battled injury issues at Stamford Bridge over the previous few years.
The Blues are anticipated to be among the busiest Premier League teams during the summer transfer window once more. In order to reorganise his team, Mauricio Pochettino is calling for additions on each side of the field.
But for Todd Boehly, throwing down the cash might not be as easy as it seems. According to reports, Chelsea may be considering a fire sale because they are having difficulty adhering to Financial Fair Play regulations.
Trevoh Chalobah, Ian Maatsen, and other homegrown players have been placed in the shop window by the Blues, who are eager to part company with them at the end of the campaign since they are pure profit on their bank sheet.
There seem to be more big sales coming up as well; according to The Times, Chelsea is “preparing to sell” James at the end of the campaign in order to earn money. The defender has a £60 million price tag attached to him by the club’s higher authorities, which is probably beyond the budget of elite teams in Europe.
Malo Gusto has the opportunity to step up and demonstrate why he may succeed James at right-back after the player was anointed the Blues’ captain in August of last year. James has barely worn the armband of the captain due to injuries that have severely hindered his career.

According to the same report, Chelsea believes that releasing James would get them on track to meet their goal of making over £100 million from player sales. Conor Gallagher is also expected to be sold.
Over the past several seasons, the midfielder has been linked to numerous moves away from his boyhood team; but, with his contract at the club expiring in 2025, a sale now seems more likely than ever.
In addition, Pochettino gave updates on the health of Christopher Nkunku, who has missed much of the season with various ailments. He also disclosed that Trevoh Chalobah, Carney Chukwuemka, Robert Sanchez, and other players are among the 11 Blues players who are now sidelined.
The next game the West London team will play is a Premier League match on Saturday against Burnley. With a victory, they will want to gain some momentum and move up into the leading half of the standings.
