The Crew eye a big win over the Revs in MLS.

Columbus Crew are set to lock horns against New England Revolution in the upcoming Eastern Conference fixture of the Major League Soccer (MLS) at the Lower.com Field in Ohio.

Columbus Crew are currently positioned second in the Eastern Conference points table of the MLS after securing 60 points in 32 matches. After getting down to Club America in penalties in the Campeones Cup finals, the Black and the Gold saw a series of mixed results. After settling for a 2-2 draw against DC United and being relegated to a defeat by table toppers Inter Miami, the Crew bounced back in fashion in their most recent encounter against Philadelphia Union.

New England Revolution on the other hand find themselves positioned second, however, from the bottom of the Eastern Conference points table. Out of the 32 matches played so far, they have only managed to register nine wins. In their last five fixtures, they have only won a solitary match against Nashville. Their last two encounters saw them getting down to Houston Dynamo and DC United by a narrow margin.

Players to watch :

The 26-year-old centre forward from Montevideo, Uruguay has plied his trade with many clubs before moving to Columbus in 2023. After making his impact for Penarol, Los Angeles FC and Fenerbahce, he joined the Crew a year ago. He has so far netted 15 goals in just 42 matches for the Black and Gold. He has been an integral player for the Uruguayan youth sides before getting a senior team call-up in 2020 for the FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches.

Matthew Polster (New England Revolution)

The 32-year-old American defensive midfielder from Wisconsin began his footballing journey with Victoria Highlanders before transitioning to Chicago Fire. In 2020, he joined New England Revolution and has so far made over a century of appearances for the club. At a time when the Revs have terribly failed to keep clean sheets, Polster will need to unleash his inner beast to control and dominate the middle of the park and offer defensive tenacity to the team.
