Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, born on February 5, 1985, is an attacker and skipper for both the Portugal national team and the Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.
Ronaldo, who is largely recognised as one of the best players of all time, has earned the maximum European Golden Shoes with four, five Ballon d’Or accolades, and a remarkable three UEFA Men’s Player of the Year awards. Throughout his career, he has won an impressive 35 trophies.

Ronaldo was born on 5 February 1985 and is currently 39 years old.
Club career
Before joining Manchester United in 2003 and winning the FA Cup in his debut season, Ronaldo started his senior career at Sporting CP. Along with winning the FIFA Club World Cup, the Champions League, and three straight Premier League championships, he also earned his first Ballon d’Or at the age of 23. When Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009 for €94 million (£80 million), it was the most expensive association football transfer at the time.
Along with Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, he established himself as a vital member of the attacking trio, which played a major role in the team’s four Champions League titles (including La Décima) from 2014 to 2018, during this period.
In 2018, he made the most costly move for an Italian club and a player over 30 years old when he signed with Juventus for an initial sum of €100 million (£88 million). He became the first-ever Serie A Player of the Year and the inaugural football player to be crowned as the top goalscorer in the English, Spanish, and Italian leagues.
He also won two Serie A crowns, two Supercoppa Italiana trophies, and a Coppa Italia. Before his contract expired in 2022, he made his way back to Manchester United in 2021, where he concluded his lone full season as the team’s top scorer. He signed for Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr in 2023.
International career
Along with the Portuguese national team, Cristiano Ronaldo has enjoyed a very favourable international career. After making his club debut in 2003, he went on to score over 100 goals, making him the squad’s all-time best scorer.
Ronaldo has participated in a number of international competitions, such as the UEFA Nations League, UEFA European Championship, and FIFA World Cup. He assisted Portugal in making it to the 2006 World Cup semifinals and the 2004 European Championship final, where they were defeated by Greece.
Having scored three goals in the competition, such as one in the final, Ronaldo was a major factor in Portugal’s winning at the 2016 UEFA European Championship. He also scored a hat-trick in the semi-final against Switzerland in 2019 to help Portugal win the inaugural UEFA Nations League. With 196 appearances, Ronaldo has scored 118 goals for Portugal overall.
