The 40-year-old forward has two assists to his name in the flagship tournament.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a talismanic presence for Portugal, with the FIFA World Cup 2026 marking his sixth appearance in the quadrennial tournament. He has scored 10 times in the tournament, becoming his side’s leading goalscorer in the World Cup.

Although his style of play has been termed selfish by some, including Thierry Henry last week, Ronaldo is also a good playmaker. He has created several chances for his teammates at both club and international levels.

This is also true at the biggest football tournament, where Ronaldo has registered two assists in 24 appearances for Selecao das Quinas.
