Croatia predicted lineup for UEFA Euro 2024

The midfield trio of Modric, Brozovic, and Kovacic will be crucial for the team’s chances in Euro 2024
Croatia will enter UEFA Euro 2024 as underdogs, yet they possess all the tools needed for victory. Central to their campaign is their impressive midfield trio of Luka Modrić, Mateo Kovačić, and Marcelo Brozović. This tournament will likely offer a final glimpse of these three playing together.
Croatia’s journey begins with an opening match against Albania at the Volksparkstadion. All eyes will be on them as they navigate the pressure from fans and high expectations.
Drawn in Group B, Croatia will face Albania, Italy, and Spain. Given that this will probably be Luka Modrić’s last Euro, fans hope for a memorable tournament.

GK: Dominik Livakovic
Dominik Livaković has been a constant presence between the sticks for Croatia since breaking into the side in 2016. Starting with the under-17s, he has made remarkable progress from youth level to becoming the team’s number one goalkeeper.
So far, he has made 54 appearances for the national team. Livaković has become a crucial member due to his shot-stopping abilities and his knack for recognizing danger. Over the years, his reflexes and ball distribution have significantly improved.
RB: Josip Stanisic
Josip Stanišić had a remarkable season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, making 20 appearances for the team. He scored three crucial goals, netting against his parent side Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and VfL Bochum, and also contributed an assist.
Since making his first appearance in 2021, Stanišić has continued to impress, amassing 18 caps for the national team. He had an excellent performance against Portugal in a friendly match, helping Croatia keep a clean sheet.
CB: Josip Sutalo
Josip Šutalo has cemented his place in the starting eleven after a series of impressive performances. He played a key role in Croatia’s excellent win over Portugal in their last match, limiting the opponents’ clear-cut chances. Since making his debut for the national team in 2022, Šutalo has made 14 appearances. Calm and composed on the ball, he excels in defense and often initiates play from the back with his ball-handling skills.
CB: Josko Gvardiol
Joško Gvardiol enjoyed an incredible season with Manchester City after signing in the summer transfer window. He adapted quickly to his new surroundings, making 28 appearances and scoring four goals.
Gvardiol has developed into an excellent defender, comfortable on the ball and adept at carrying it forward. He excels in one-on-one situations and is not afraid to take on challenges. At just 22 years old, he has already made over 30 appearances for Croatia, scoring two goals.

LB: Borna Sosa
Borna Sosa is an attacking left-back known for his forward runs to join the attack. Currently playing for Ajax, he has made 16 appearances for the club, contributing four assists. Since breaking into the national team in 2018, Sosa has earned 20 caps and scored one goal.
Despite his offensive capabilities, he also performs his defensive duties excellently. Sosa aims to play a crucial role in Croatia’s hunt for silverware in this tournament.
RCM: Luka Modric
Luka Modric is arguably one of the finest midfielders in the world. He is the only midfielder to win the Ballon d’Or. This season has not been his personal best, as he mostly played as a substitute for the team. Nevertheless, he performed his role perfectly, helping Real Madrid win both the Champions League and LaLiga. As he turns 39 this year, this will probably be his last Euros. He aims to play a significant role in his nation’s push for silverware.
CM: Marcelo Brozovic
Marcelo Brozović currently plays club football for the Saudi side Al Nassr, where he has made a significant impact, scoring four goals and assisting in eight in the 2023-24 Saudi Pro League season. As one of the most experienced players on the team, he often serves as the primary playmaker.
Brozović has made 96 appearances for Croatia and has developed an excellent partnership with Luka Modrić and Mateo Kovačić at the heart of Croatia’s midfield. This trio are one of the most impressive in the tournament and can defeat any side on their day. As one of the senior players on the Croatian team, Kovačić has already earned 100 caps. This tournament will be crucial for him, as it will likely be the last time this renowned midfield trio plays together. Kovačić possesses the X factor, which can be pivotal for the team’s success going forward.
RW: Lovro Majer
Lovro Majer is a versatile player who can play in several positions on the front line. This season he has made 32 appearances for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, netting five goals and assisting another five. He is a threat due to his majestic left foot, which allows him to deliver pinpoint crosses into the box and score spectacular goals from the edge of the area. Zlatko Dalić often deploys him on the right wing, capitalizing on his ability to take on defenders and score goals.
ST: Bruno Petkovic
Bruno Petkovic is a tall and physical striker who plays for Dinamo Zagreb where he had an outstanding season. He scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists. He brings a different dimension to the team due to his ability to dominate opponents in set-pieces. He made his debut for the national team in 2019 and since then he has gone on to make 38 appearances scoring 11 goals.
LW: Andrej Kramaric
Andrej Kramaric will be a massive threat to the opposition in this tournament. This is due to his ability to produce all kinds of goals. The 2023-24 season was incredible for him as he scored 15 goals in 30 appearances for the TSG Hoffenheim and provided six assists.
He is already a mainstay with the national team, having made 92 appearances and netted 27 goals. Kramarić is also known for his proficiency in scoring free kicks, having already converted several during his tenure.
