The Caribbean nation had a tough World Cup debut against Germany, leaking seven goals despite netting their first-ever goal in the expanded 48-team tournament.
Livano Comenencia’s 21st-minute goal cancelled Felix Nmecha’s opener and sparked wild celebrations from the tiny nation’s fans. However, Germany answered with six more goals, something their opponents had no answer for. Still, scoring against the legendary Manuel Neuer will give Dick Advocaat’s side a boost in morale ahead of the must-win game against Ecuador.
The Blue Waves know that another defeat will all but end their debut World Cup campaign. They will face a tough test from an Ecuadorian side who will be desperate to get their first win of the campaign after a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Ivory Coast in their opener.
