Last Thursday, DC United easily defeated Santos Laguna, a team from Mexico, 3-0 in their last Leagues Cup group-stage match. They produced an outstanding performance.

Theodore Ku-DiPietro and Cristian Dajome scored goals in the second half to round off a strong team effort after Christian Benteke gave the home team an ideal beginning to the match two minutes before the half-hour mark.

Mazatlan stunned Nashville with a 2-0 victory when the two teams faced off at Geodis Park last Thursday in their Group I finale. Teenage attacker Ramiro Arciga scored two goals in quick succession just after halftime, giving the Gunners three crucial points.

Before that, Mazatlan had lost five of their previous six games in all competitions, including their League Cup opener against New England Revolution, where they had lost 1-0.
