After Dean Huijsen was unexpectedly left out by Luis de la Fuente, the unveiling of Spainās final FIFA World Cup team sparked intense discussion at Real Madrid.
The young Los Blancos defender was once seen to be a key member of the national team. Not too long ago, one of the favourites to start on a regular basis under De la Fuente.
His omission has garnered a lot of attention because of this.
Real Madrid players are completely absent from Spainās final 26-man roster, which is astonishing given the clubās longstanding impact on the national team.
De la Fuente instead chose defensive players like Eric Garcia, Marc Pubill, Aymeric Laporte, and Pau Cubarsi.

Dean Huijsen posts a cryptic message on social media after being left out of the Spain World Cup team
The defender seemed to vent his annoyance on social media shortly after the squad announcement by uploading a picture that his father had initially posted.
Huijsen was listed among LaLigaās top players this season according to Sofascoreās statistical ratings, which were emphasised in the graphic.
He was ranked higher in the picture than a number of Spanish-selected defenders, notably Eric Garcia of Barcelona. Spainās coaching staff seems to have made their choice based on much more than just statistics, despite the statistical comparisons.
Dean Huijsen had a challenging and uneven season at Real Madrid, occasionally finding it difficult to establish himself during trying times for the team as a whole.
Individual performances were inevitably impacted by Real Madridās defensive instability during the season. The young defender came under increasing scrutiny following many inconsistent performances.
Notably, De la Fuente believed that other defenders were more dependable before the tournament. It seems to be the only plausible reason why players like Eric Garcia eventually overtook Dean Huijsen in the hierarchy.
