Mauricio Pochettino responded fast to quell concerns over Christian Pulisic. The United States star was substituted during the World Cup victory over Paraguay.
Christian Pulisic, a star for team USA, raised some alarm when he was substituted out of the team’s game against Paraguay. But there is some encouraging news about his status.
There was no explanation for team USA’s decision to send Pulisic to the bench after the first half of their World Cup opener, prompting rumours that he had sustained an injury. The team ran out to a 3-0 lead in the first half; the decision to sit Pulisic could have been a precautionary move by the American team.
Christian Pulisic was removed after the first half. But the Fox Sports broadcast observed that he looked toward the friends and family area shortly before the second half began, indicating that he was fine.
According to the broadcast team, Pulisic was observed being up and active around the bench during the second half.

Mauricio Pochettino comments on Christian Pulisic’s early substitution

According to Tom Bogert, Pochettino informed FOX that Pulisic had taken a kick to the calf before it was decided not to experiment with him.
The USMNT coach explained: “Pulisic took a kick in his calf and then he started to feel tight and we didn’t want to take any risk.”
Pochettino went on to say that the problem had made it tough for Pulisic to continue. But the initial reaction was not one of panic.
“It was difficult for him to work, but we hope that it is not a big issue and he’s ready for the next one.”
