Borussia Dortmund vs SC Freiburg Prediction, lineups, betting tips & odds
(Courtesy : DFL/Bundesliga)
The Black and Yellows are in a rut given their usual level of performance.
It’s too early to call winners in the Bundesliga, but if you’d ask any German, they’d tell you Dortmund‘s title hopes are already fading. And it’s mostly due to their woeful away form—just one point from five matches. On the flip side, the Black and Yellow team’s run at Signal Iduna Park, though, has been key in keeping them in the hunt for the top-4.
Currently, they are seventh with 16 points, and that’s not your typical Dortmund. Up next, they face Freiburg at home. That’s key: at home… But the visitors have been the dark horses in the league with 17 points. They’re level with Bayer Leverkusen but behind on goal difference.
The question is: Will the hosts’s fortress hold, or can Freiburg shake off their recent struggles?
Kick-off
Saturday, November 23, 2:30 PM UK (8 PM IST)
Location: Signal Iduna Park
Form
Dortmund (in the Bundesliga): L-D-L-D-L
Freiburg (in the Bundesliga): W-W-L-D-D
Players to watch
Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund)
Guirassy has established himself as Dortmund’s main man up front. With six goals and an assist in eight Bundesliga appearances, his lethal finishing has been key to the team’s attack. The Guinean striker’s consistency shines through. His ability to deliver under pressure makes him a player to keep an eye on.
Ritsu Doan (Freiburg)
In a season where Freiburg are going strong (so far, so good), Doan has shown why he is really one of the best players in the team. Like many Japanese players, you can expect Ritsu to dash past any defence. And that’s his game–carry the ball, freakish pace, and calm under pressure. He has so far four goals and one assist in the Bundesliga.

Injury and team news
Dortmund will be without experienced centre-back Niklas Süle, sidelined with an ankle injury, while Emre Can serves a suspension. To add to their troubles, Karim Adeyemi is out with a hamstring issue, leaving the squad short on key players.
Freiburg, on the other hand, face their own challenges. Eren Dinkci and Daniel-Kofi Kyereh are unavailable due to injuries, and first-choice goalkeeper Noah Atubolu is also out, paving the way for Florian Müller to step in.

Predicted lineups

Match Prediction
Dortmund’s domestic form has been really poor. They can’t seem to replicate the UCL form in Germany. Given how Freiburg have been doing so far, we predict the match to end in a draw.
