I saw Caicedo dancing in the video with the placard ‘Ecuador in the house’. Additional footage revealed Paez going to a strip club with teammates Gonzalo Plata and Robert Arboleda.

The teen’s appearance has sparked controversy because Paez is a minor and it is illegal for anyone under the legal age of 21 to be present.A video of Robert Arboleda of Sao Paulo, with Paez to his right, hurling money at a stripper at the bar, has drawn criticism.

‘Images of events contrary to the values and principles that we defend and promote as an institution have been disseminated, which will be the subject of analysis for future calls.

Video of the players having fun in New York surfaced following Ecuador’s 2-0 loss to Italy in a friendly match on Sunday.Following their victory over Guatemala two days prior, players were granted free time, according to confirmation from the national federation of Ecuador.

Playing for Al-Sadd in Qatar, fellow player Plata replied to criticism by saying in a since-deleted post, “They don’t like anything, it’s bad to have fun.”The Ecuador Football Federation has already punished Arboleda and Plata for breaking disciplinary guidelines. After drinking the night before a 2017 match against Argentina, the two were reportedly five players on the national squad that received suspensions. During the 2019 Copa America, Arboleda also attended a party on the 17th floor of a hotel.
