Sancho became the only English player to complete 11+ take-ons in UCL history
According to Erik ten Hag, Manchester United benefit from Jadon Sancho’s success while he is on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho was expelled from his parent club on August 26 after Erik ten Hag accused him in public of lying about his exclusion from the matchday squad against Arsenal in September. Since then, he has not appeared on the pitch for his parent club.
After Dortmund re-signed Sancho on loan for €3.5 million, which increased to €7.5 million in January, he performed admirably in their first-leg victory against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semifinal. Since United paid £72.9 million for Sancho in 2021, they would be required to pay at least £30 million to comply with Premier League regulations regarding sustainability and profitability.
“So let’s say this: yesterday he played very good and I already talked about, he’s a very good player,” Ten Hag said. “Yesterday he showed why Manchester United bought him and he showed also he represents a high value for Manchester United, which is good.

“So I’m happy. I’m happy for Jadon, for the performance yesterday and we’ll see what is going to happen in the future.”
Ten Hag stated that there was still room for reconciliation, despite Sancho’s insistence on training separately from the first team and having to get ready for practices in the academy facility at United’s Carrington practice site due to his lack of remorse.
Erik ten Hag on new Man United technical director Jason Wilcox
It was last week when Jason Wilcox, who joined United two weeks ago as the technical director, had his first meeting with Ten Hag. Ten Hag claimed he is growing an “intense” friendship with the former Southampton director of football as the summer transfer window approaches.
“We talk every day from now,” Ten Hag added, “from last week. In a very short period, we have to build an intense relationship, we are working on it now to a plan.
“We had a plan already before he stepped in but of course, we have to get aligned. It takes time but at the same time, we don’t have so much time.”
