The Norwegian missed City’s last match against Leeds United.

Erling Haaland feels “much better,” but his ability to play against Nottingham Forest will be determined after training on Tuesday. Due to a small injury he sustained during training on Thursday, Haaland was unable to travel to Leeds.

The Norwegian is still doubtful for the upcoming match, but considering the rest he received over the weekend, City will try to incorporate him.

Nico O’Reilly, who hobbled out during the 1-0 victory over Leeds due to an ankle issue, was able to participate in a rehabilitation session on Sunday.

“Erling Haaland feels much better, same for Nico O’Reilly”.

“But yesterday we didn’t train and now we have training. We’ll decide today…”,

Said Pep Guardiola. Other than this, the City’s injury situation is encouraging as they aim to give themselves an excellent chance of winning a trophy this year.

In the Premier League match against Leeds, Jeremy Doku made his squad comeback for the first time, and Savinho made his first appearance since suffering an injury on New Year’s Day when he came off the bench in the second half. Guardiola is hopeful that Mateo Kovacic has resumed training, leaving Josko Gvardiol and Kovacic as the only two injured players.

On Wednesday night, when both clubs play at the same time, City hope to get closer to Arsenal. Arsenal travels to Brighton, the team that defeated Forest over the weekend, while City hosts Forest; despite Arsenal having played one more game, the two teams are separated by five points.

While ahead of their match against Newcastle, the United head coach was asked about the availability of Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire, after they were withdrawn due to feeling ill in the victory over Palace.

“Yeah, we’re hoping so,” he replied about their involvement at St James’ Park.

“We’re working towards it.”

“They weren’t feeling too good. We’ve still got a little bit of time to the game and we will just have to see how they feel. So we’ll obviously give them every chance.”

“No, it wasn’t injury, it’s just both of them weren’t feeling too good. So, yeah, it’s one of those things really. But we’ll just have to see how they are today and tomorrow morning.”

Lisandro Martinez has been out for the past couple of games, while Mason Mount is making progress in his recovery.
