As Middle East tensions rise, rumours of CR7 making a dramatic departure from the Saudi Pro League are circulating. As Sir David Beckham opens doors at Inter Miami, the Portuguese legend may choose to join another MLS great.
Before they retire, supporters from all around the world would love to see Ronaldo and Messi, who have won 13 Ballons d’Or between them, play for the same side. In the past, they have faced off in international competition, and while playing on opposite teams, particularly in Real Madrid and FC Barcelona‘s bitter El Clásico rivalry.

Meanwhile, the 41-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo is now engaged in a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia that is scheduled to expire in 2027. With a release clause that could be activated during the upcoming transfer window, those stipulations could be broken this summer.

Rene Meulensteen, a former Manchester United coach who previously worked with CR7 at Old Trafford, explained to BetGoat how a beautiful union in the United States could be planned.
The Dutch coach stated:
“Cristiano Ronaldo could still thrive in the MLS, no problem. With the right team and players around him, 100%, he could thrive. Give him service, and he’ll put it in the back of the net. He could do that in the MLS, without a shadow of a doubt.“
“Playing alongside Lionel Messi at Inter Miami? It would be incredible. Honestly, it would be great. It would be the biggest box office games every single week. Who wouldn’t want to see that? As long as you have the right balance to ensure both Cristiano and Messi can still play at their best.“
