Erling Haaland has won this award for the past two seasons.

The Premier League is considered the best league in the world with plenty of top coaches and players joining forces to lead their team to the summit. Every season presents a chance for the fans to witness their favourite players score goals for fun. These players have made goalscoring look so easy with their ability to find the back of the net.

We have seen plenty of new faces dominating the league with their goals. Erling Haaland the latest to introduce his name to the Premier League contingent after winning this prestigious award for the last two consecutive seasons. Cole Palmer of Chelsea came close to providing stiff competition last term and remains one of the favourites to secure the award this time.

Let’s now delve into the top five favourites to win the Premier League Golden Boot this season:

5. Alexander Isak (Newcastle United)

The Newcastle United star striker has become a top player since arriving from Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window of 2022. While playing in the Spanish top flight he was a raw talent but now he is among the best strikers in the English league. Last season he finished third in the top scorer list after scoring 21 goals, six goals shy of winner Erling Haaland. This season presents another chance for him to fight for this award.

4. Cole Palmer (Chelsea)

Arguably one of the best signings Chelsea have made over the last few years. Cole Palmer, better known as ‘Cold Palmer’ for his celebration, is a calm and composed player. He has emerged from a fringe player at Manchester City to the star player of this Chelsea side.

Despite playing as a left winger or as a number ten during last season, he scored 22 goals while also setting up another 11 assists. Palmer for his outstanding performance was deservedly awarded the Premier League Young Player of the Season.

3. Son Heung-Min (Tottenham)

Son Heung-Min has earned himself a legendary status among the Tottenham supporters for his outstanding contribution to the team whether through his goals or by giving the best for the team. Last season he netted 17 goals for a struggling Tottenham side that faltered as the season moved on. This season, he has already picked up speed after scoring two goals from the opening three matches.

2. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

The Liverpool record goal-scorer has had a rollercoaster journey from being on the fringes of Chelsea to establishing himself as one of the best players to grace the Premier League. Last season, the Reds struggled as the season progressed but Mohamed Salah made sure he could do the best possible for them.

He scored 18 goals during the league and found himself seventh in the overall rankings. This by no means is a wonderful return for a player who has a knack for scoring goals for fun. Mohamed Salah has already shown plenty of promise in the current season after scoring three goals in the same number of matches. Hopefully, he will be aiming to give tough competition to Erling Haaland this term.

1. Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

Erling Haaland has been a sensational signing for Manchester City who has taken them to the next level with his goal-scoring prowess and presence. He has turned into a complete beast who seems to be exceeding boundaries with each passing game.

After winning the Premier League Golden Boot for the past two seasons with a good margin, he has started the new season in breathtaking form. Erling Haaland has already scored seven goals from three matches which includes two hat-tricks, one each against Ipswich Town and West Ham United.
